I'm african american and i need my hair to grow!!??

what can i use to make my hair grow faster? anything will do.

Wash your hair more often, like once or twice a week and condition it often, like three nights out of the week use a moisturizing conditioner and every week and a half use a protein conditioner, there is one by Soft Sheen, its called HI-Protech Reconstructor. I swear by it, totally love it. Don't use hair grease, anything that contains petroleum or mineral oil is bad for your hair, these ingredients contain no beneficial properties and will clog the pores and keep hair from growing and can cause thinning. I use water based oil lotions and creams, I use oils, like olive oil and almond oil, sometimes I mix them with rosemary oil, which has been proven to stimulate the folicles and can contribute to hair growth. Black hair needs moisture and strength, you get these by drinking lots of water, taking the right kind of vitamins, like one specifically for hair skin and nail, and a vitamin e to sustain moisture, and a biotin to support hair structure. Don't use cheap shampoos that will dry out the hair, even if they claim to be moisturizing, they aren't, they contain cheap detergents that strip the hair of moisture then the conditioning agents are synthetic so they don't hold, I've found that the best shampoo for my hair is Creme of Nature, and conditioner is Un-Damaged Goods. Wear a fitted satin cap before going to bed at night, if you wear weaves these can cause breakage, anything that causes stress on the hair can break it off. My hair is nearly mid back length after cutting it to less than two inches long about a year and a half ago. I rarely comb it, I leave it in a few fat braids and leave it under a cap and wig when I go out, I use the crown and glory technique to keep my hair strong and shiny. I do not take all of the advice on that site, but some of it I have found to be helpful, like I will not use a lye based relaxer

My stylist advised me to use a clarifying shampoo (wash until squeaky clean). Condition for at least 30min after washing (if you have a hooded dryer put a plastic cap on and sit under that while conditioning). Take it easy on relaxers (try to go 6-8wks between applications-if you do),no color at all if possible (the peroxides will slow you down due to drying out), easy on hairstyles that require a lot of heat you may want to try pin ups or roller set styles for a few months and most importantly keep a trim every 4-6wks (split ends will slow you down too). I started with less than an inch of hair and with in 12-16 months it grew out about 8" (at least neck/shoulder length). I use aveda products to keep it shiny and healthy looking stay away from alcohol based products like spritz and holding spays-they cause breakage.

If you have natural hair you can be amazed by the results you will get when you allow your hair to do what Mother Nature intended for it to do; GROW!

I am not saying for a second that you shouldn't get your hair done up the way you want; because I am coming to you as a sister that has not wore any chemicals in my hair for fourteen years. I am now 27.

The other lady who answered also was right about washing your hair with non brand products. IT WILL DESTROY YOUR NATURAL CELLS IN YOUR HAIR!!!

For instance, I have been using Doo Gro for the last six or so years. You should use the same product regularly. You can even give your hair dresser the shampoo you use when you're getting your hair washed. Changing your products often will show the results in your hair.

Again, if you are a natural hair sister you can rock box braids; cornbraids, weaves and/ or wigs..And still look better than what you thought would actually would. I keep my hair up to standards that I make.

I can tell you the honest truth I love my THICK AND NAPPY HAIR! My sister use to always do my hair; she got tired because of how thick and course it is; so I started going back to the beauty palor.

The funny part is when I first went to (my regular) hair dresser to tell her I wanted box braids. She told me 80 bucks so I said ok; the thing is I new she didn't realize how thick my hair really was.

Girl, when she blowed out my hair she looked and started speaking to her friend in their language. When she finished my hair it was 11pm; (I got there about 430 /500pm) She said the next time you come back it's going to be 100 dollars and I laughed; but I always go back.

Like this weekend I got a touch up but that was only 50 dollars but i always give her tips; they are my people and they have my hair laced all the time. I live in PA now I will go all the way back to Brooklyn, NY to get my hair done by them.

There is no fast way of growing your hair; but it takes patience and love of your hair that you have to show it. I LOVE MY NAPPY HAIR!

Anything will not just do; because its your hair that you must know. Is it soft or course? Is it long or short? You have to look at the changes your hair developes. If you wearing a perm or wearing the natural look. Don't damage your hair before you get the chance to see the true naturer of your hair. And also go on line and look up things on natural hair or if you are a perm wearer do the same.

Peace and Blessings..

Keep direct heat off the hair ( stop blow drying all the time, and using hot curlers). Try to go under a dryer with body rollers and always use a good conditioner in your hair.

What a load of pants some people write.

There is nothing on sale anywhere that will make your hair grow faster. People can talk so much rubbish.

Look after your hair, eat well and get a regular trim. That is IT.

Hair grows about 1/2 inch every month... Healthy diet, vitamins...Scalp massage will help stimulate gland underneath the skin. Other than that you will have to be patient..

I'm african american and i need my hair to grow!!??

Tee Tree Oil will do the trick. You can also use Coconut Oil..Sulphur 8.. DAX.. or other organic greases and treatments. Your hair will grow no faster than it does sista. There is no miracle growth solution. These products will help though. And no... cutting your ends won't help either...
