Straight hair?

i want to straighten my hair but i hate using a hot comb. ist there any way i can get it. i've never straightened it with a flat iron and have NO intention of perming it. I have very thick "african american hair" so any suggestions would be appreciated

buy a Chi flat iron...trust me you will love it. Its kinda expensive but well worth it.

you can get your hair chemically straightened. it would be permanent (at least untill it grows out) but you wouldn't have to bother straightening all the time. try going to an 'african american' salon and asking them about it (or indeed any salon)

Take a big rounded metal brush and a hairdryer (when it's wet). Pin it up and blow dry it straight in sections. It's going to take awhile and your arms might get tired....

There are also anti-frizz products that will help to "weigh" your hair down and straighten it (or keep it straight).

You won't want to wash it the next day, or it will just go back to be curly (and it's a lot of work to straighten it this way, but it won't damage your hair as much as chemically straightening it and you can choose if you want it straight or curly).
