Hey i had the same problem long hair isn't everything you know! first you should try to limit how much perms you but in you're hair i went from 8 perms a year to just two a year and it's a big different. try getting your hair trimmed often that helps take out those ugly spit ends. Braids aren't a bad ideal as long as the person who does them know what they are doing give it time it'll grow for sure.
