I have african-american hair %26amp; well in december I bleached %26amp; dyed my hair with semi-permanet dye . It's coming out %26amp; I'm thinking of perming hair soon. Is it too soon ? or can I just go ahead and perm it?

When you said you bleached your hair I cringed. That's some serious damage you did to your hair. If I were you I would wait 3 months or so until you get it permed or else your hair will just break off left and right.

In the mean time condition your hair every week to restore the moisture.

yeah you can perm it if you want it to fall out! You should continue to allow your hair to repair and condition it. Try not to pun any chemicals in it it will make it worse. You should wait!!!

i would consider waiting a little while so your hair wouldnt get as damaged. but if you dont want yo wait i think that you should go for it.

if u value ur hair...no.

if were just normal tint you cud, but cos bleach uses a slightly different process to lighten the hair compared to normal tints, perms and bleaching is a big no no.

if there is some slight movement in ur hair, you can try scrunching it with mouse and a diffuser...or if its str8 as nething, try using heated rollers or tongs to curl ur hair - jus make sure u use a thermal protection spray to help prevent ur hair getting damaged.

theres also these funny bendy foam sticks which you can use to curl with - wrap them round the hair when wet, let it dry and u can have spiral curls, similar to a set but no blue rinse or rollers used lol.

With all of that treatment to your hair the perm may not hold as well as it could.

To test at home if you should perm your hair is to take a glass of water. Put a chunk (NOT a huge chunk) of your hair in the glass, if it floats your hair is healthy enough to dye and perm, if it sinks that is a big no!

You can also ask your hairstylist if they think your hair would be okay to perm if it sinks.

some of you are FORGETTING she has black hair %26amp; black hair gets STRAIGHT when perming not curly. I'm not sure, with black hair, since youve bleached it %26amp; dyed it already %26amp; it hasnt falled out yet, I'm pretty sure you'll be okay, but if not I'd ask a hairdresser first.
