2- Deep condition with olive oil, put a shower cap on, and sit under a heated-dryer or heated towel... (do this for 30 mins)

3-Rinse well. While hair is wet, spray a heat protectant spray (Tresseme)

4- Let your hair air dry (you can blow dry if you are in a rush)

5- Part hair into 4 sections, then in SMALL pieces, spray a flat iron spray (1-2 sprays depending on the length of your hair)

6- Flat iron 1 or 2 times...

And you're done!

African American hair can be very fragile especially if you have a perm. You want to put as little heat on it as possible. Wash your hair once a week, make sure you use a deep conditioner, and a protien conditioner at least once a month, and a leave in conditioner for use with heat styling. Try not to use heat on it everyday, but if you must make sure your flat iron is on a very low setting. If you wrap your hair in a silk scarf everynight you shouldn't need to flat iron everyday.

you need to wash your hair more oftten uhh you can flat iron it but you must protect it i use tresemme heat tamer and redken smooth down heat glide! really good you must prtect your hair from heat if you dont want to damage it

I do mines every 2 weeks. Your hair folicals needs constant stimulation though. I agree that heat is the devil. If you deep condition. Hot oil treat it, and flat iron...

then "wrap" your hair around your head...

tie with a satin scarf....

you will not need to apply heat because it will have a "bump" in it from the wrapping.
