Does it mean anything when an African American has blonde strands of hair instead of grey?

When I had a large afro my mom and sisters used to braid my hair and they told me how I always had blonde strands of hair even though my hair is always black or brown. I'm the only one in the family who has that and it's not hereditary.

Does anyone know?

Maybe a few of your hair folicles lack melanin?

You know I do not know why this happens. That runs in my family. My aunt and my mom hair does that and so does my cousin you know that is a really good question. I guess it is one of the wonderful differences that we have.
