Hair salons tend to be like bars.... Everybody is a regular.

It's like cheers.. "where errybody knows your name"

Walking in, being unknown.. people do tend to stop and look like.. who is that.. what's she want... she know she needs her hair did.. her hair looks better than mine.. i wonder is that a weeve... lol.. its a variety of things that people could be thinking..

Perhaps try a more upscale black salon..... Are u in the hood ?? They tend to act a fool more than others.

That's how they are

"Cultural differences"

it may be there nature

Well go to a different store with white people I don't know. Or go to the next city not so far away. There's some nice salons out there who are very sweet and caring, willing to talk and not stuck up and judgemental like you experienced. Good luck!

Why do black hair salon give customers attitude?

Thats weird...when I go to the "black" hair salons I don't get that experience, they are usually very nice and "motherly" to me. Maybe it's you, maybe you give off an "attitude" vibe and they give it back.

@ some of these comments, its actually kind of sad that people will say what they really want to say, that they usually cant say in public about black people, behind the keyboard.

I'd try being nice anyway, you may change their mind about your culture, or simply make you the exception to their eyes.

Then, why go? Regardless of color, gender, or anything else, if I can not get a decent service, I do not go to the establishment. If they don't like you, that's their problem. I'd think they want your dollars as much as the next guy, but I guess not... You can get the same product from other places, no?

smartsexy's comment pretty much sums up what all those people before them were saying about black people being rude....

I for one do not think that. I think everyone can be rude, black, white, purple, whatever... But I think smartsexys attitude is kinda sad. Not everyone treats black people badly- and you going on with that stereotype is just as bad as the white people who say all black people are rude..

Everyone just needs to chill...

If you went to a few mean salons, find a new one. Im sure not every salon is rude. I agree with one of hte other people though, maybe you don't realize the vibe you set off. What are the odds that every black salon is rude? I dunno...

To each his own i guess...

one question: what is the world coming to?

Why do black hair salon give customers attitude?

anyone have a problem with black people cuz i feel some tension in some of the answers

Why do black hair salon give customers attitude?

I'm not sure why. I'm black my self and have had that problem only once. Are you just walking into random shops? Maybe they don't except walk-ins. Have your tried setting a appt. or consultation. I thought I was going to have the same problem when I 1st started going to my current stylist and I had made my appt only like an hour ahead of time but I didn't have that problem at all. Maybe ask some of your friend and family about some good stylist w/ no attitudes.

Why do black hair salon give customers attitude?

im mix with black i guess because the black women who own these shops are ghetto. i notice that people of any color with the most crappiest job has the most nastiest attitude

Why do black hair salon give customers attitude?

Black people in general are rude people. Thats just how they are. I really dont care how racist that sounds, truth is truth, you can like it or not. Black people are generally rude and vile peole with a chip on their shoulders.

Why do black hair salon give customers attitude?

lol well im black and this happens to even us we have a low tolerance for certain things but ummm are you black because that may be another reason we hate it when somebody else tracks into our territory but its just plain crazy to me but i mean thats the major reason but then again we really dont be feelin like doing anything and its lazy and pitiful but i love my race but sometimes i do notice we do have attitude problems

MAYBE US BLACK PEOPLE WOULDNT BE SO DAMN RUDE AND HAVE A CHIP ON OUR SHOULDER AND BE SUCH VILE PEOPLE IF WHITE PEOPLE STOP ACTIN LIKE THEY ARE BETTER THAN US AND STOP THINKIN THEY ARE ABOVE US DAMNIT THIS IS NOT TIMES OF SLAVERY WE HAVE OUR CIVIL RIGHTS SO TREAT US EQUAL I DONT LIKE BEING FOLLOWED AROUND AMERICAN EAGLE OR HOLLISTER OR PLACES LIKE THAT DONT GET ME STARTED

Why do black hair salon give customers attitude?

cuz yo white behind shouldn't be up in there. when i went to white salon the ho told me it wasn't the place for "folks like me." stop goin to black salon before they puts NAIR IN UR SHAMPOO! I LAUGH like hell when they do that mess!!!!
