Sorry but depending on where you live your outcome will vary. The best way would be a Perm(relaxer). This would last the longest and have the best results. You can try hot combing but it may not last long and cause excessive damage. Try roller setting with the largest rollers that your hair can take, then add some gloss to eliminate frizz followed by blow-drying and flat iron. This should do the trick for a while depending on how course your hair is. I do this all the times and I only relaxe my hair every 3 months. i think a straightener would be the easiest, most successful way to straighten your hair. but blow drying it straight, using a round boar hair brush could work, always point the dryer DOWN your hair, so it doesnt make your hair frizzy and dry. another thing you could try is to braid your hair in plaits when its wet so when it dries it wont be curly, but that may give you waves. hope i helped

well actually...I am having the same problem...but right now because of perms takes my hair out...I have to wear a sewn in or braids...but this conworker (african american) told me about this product that she is using "Phyto" and it straightens without a perm (of course I didn't believe until she told me that she's been using it and her hair is really course) it's not that expensive and she says the more you use it the straighter and shiney your hair gets.
