What will happen if i braid my hair while wet?

i heard if you braid your hair while wet, it will become wavy when it dries. will that work on african american hair, if so could someone give me some steps on achieving that look, and possible a website with some pictures. thanks!

I do this a lot. I'm white thought and have really thick hair so I'm not sure about your hair type. I usually do a french braid or to french braids one on eaither side, while my hair is damp. I sleep like that, wake up, take them out, and tada instand wavy curls! I run my fingers threw and sometimes use a little styleing spray and they last all day.

oh its really easy u put in regular or french braids all throught ur hair they can be big or small ( meaning the braids ) and u can decide that! - the bigger the braid the bigger the wave -so after sleep on it and when u wake up, if is still wet run the blowdryer through it! not touching ur hair with the blowdryer! and do all this while ur hair is wet run ur fingers through it when ur done and BAM! ur hair is loaded with georgeous curls!!!
