Are Butters and Waxes better for the hair than Oils?

for example, would it be better to use Olive Butter and Jojoba Wax instead of Olive Oil and Jojoba Oil?

i don't have African hair but i think wax and butter are better. they help me make my retarded curls straight. they also keep smoothness and moisture better than oil and w/o the oily feeling.

Oils r good for extra dry hair. I prefer butters, but African American hair is usually dry. so maybe oils.
