How do you do a hot oil treatment? (African American Hair)

Should you just rinse the oil out or shampoo it out?

I've hear conflicting opinions.

Also, what are the best kinds of oil to use?

Read the directions on the box. Ilike VO-5. Either, you can leave it it and shampoo or rinse it out and then shampoo. It does say, (which is what I do) for extra conditioning, leave the oil in and shampoo, then rinse it all out. (I don't know if you need to do anything different for you african american hair. I think it should be for all hair types. Of course, I know there is a whole section for african american hair in most stores.)
