How to achieve this kinky curly hair look?

Hi I have very frizzy and kinky African-American hair.

Anyone know any products that can be used in the hair to DEFINE the curls?

Preferably a product from a beauty supply store, or Target/Walmart/Walgreens etc.

thanks

Well, it truly depends on the texture of your hair. If you have some wave to your hair, then that look won't be hard to pull off. If not, then you'll spend a lot of money and time trying to get it and never get it. I think Biosilk is a good product too. Also try TIGI Curls Rock. It's pretty thick (thicker than Biosilk) which is good for thicker hair. Make sure to wash and deep condition with a product that moisturizes your hair. Curls love moisture and product! Oh yeah, make sure to use a leave in conditioner too...after shampoo and condition, before styling product.

ANYWAY

Garnier Fructis products work, my mother uses it (she's African-American)

And make sure you put some get on it first, then use mousse to scrunch it out and make the curls

Ooh, that's cool. I have kinky curly hair too, but not that kinky. You could try taking this photo to a stylist and have her cut it like that for you if its not already.

It looked like the girl in the picture side-parted her hair. maybe you could try that.

You should buy a serum for your hair. I like John Frieda's. He's excellent. You put it in when it's wet or damp and then either blow dry it or let it air dry. I also like his Secret Weapon. Its like this thick, creamy stuff you put on your hair when its dry. It lives up to its name. It's awesome. Good Luck, fellow curlygirl.

BTW, you can find John's stuff at any one of the places you mentioned, but it'd probably be cheaper at Walmart. Hey the girl above me stole my Avatar. You kinda look like me too. :(

Practically every maker of hair products offers curl enhancers. Nexxus, Redken, Tigi. There are also some non-professional curl enhancers but I have yet to find one that works as well as the professional products. Some of my customers have tried some drugstore products because they are less expensive, but they always come back for the good products because the good ones don't build up on your hair, make it sticky, make it dull, etc.
